Do curved plugs need o-rings?
I am currently gauging my ears and I had I just put in a curved plug. I was just wondering if I will need o-rings to keep it from coming out…
it depends on how big they are and what they’re made out of. i had kinda heavy metal ones that were 8s and they would fall out if I didn’t have o-rings on them. if they’re plastic they’d be less likely to slide out because they’re lighter and have more friction against your earhole. My advice- once you get up to the size you want, purchase some natural material gauges (bone, wood, horn, etc.) any natural material especially wood doesn’t smell like the metal and the acrylic gauges. Always make sure you turn the gauges and move them around when you’re sizing up. Don’t keep acrylic gauges in for too long without cleaning or changing them. They could literally form to your ear. Your skin may actually attach to it and you’ll have to get them surgically removed.
