Mamma Mia inspires 70s fancy dress

It took the world by storm. Mamma Mia exploded onto our cinema screens in July 2008 and was an unexpected hit. Nobody expected the Abba mania to reach the heights. Women, men and children loved the film for what it was, a light hearted feel-good musical. …Lay all that happiness on me!! Previously not a huge fan of Abba’s songs, even I couldn’t help tapping away to the music and enjoying Pierce Brosnan’s nervous portrayal of Sam Carmichael, Donna’s (Meryl Streep) ex- lover. An idyllic setting, playful plot and great music. It was a recipe of success.
