can a rapper who is far from the best, be considered amongst them in time?
to name a few rappers, tupac, biggie, nas, eminem, jay z, snoop dogg, ice cube, scarface, etc…. they are considered by most to be greatest of all time. hardly anyone can say one rapper is clearly the best, so they name a few above the rest. my question is, can bubba sparxxx in your opinion have a career brilliant enough to be lyrically king? right now, hes got nothing on the legends in the game, but that doesn’t mean he hasnt put out solid music. three albums of platinum status plus awards and accolades, and many cameos in videos and songs. he still has a long life ahead of him. i am curious to see his standing among rap’s greatest. he cant hold a candle now, but does he have what it takes to be considered among the greatest?
finally he even mentioned something like this on his third album, ” The Charm”
he goes:
” if i ain’t on your list, you just can’t win ‘em all
but most of y’all will f*ck with biggie smalls”
you see what he says?
How is NaS far from the best? Literally every single lyrical rapper you listen to today has been influenced by him.
Also BIG, he had some the cleverest punchlines, was a really good storyteller and a key figure in Mafioso rap as well as Jay-Z.
Scarface is the king of the south, him and the Geto Boys brought southern rap to the picture.
Bubba Sparxxx IMHO is one of the worst rappers that ever touched a mic.
